About this home

Build your next home on Church Street in historic Maitland. This newly surveyed village lot sits just north of the Cabinetmaker's House, in a St. Lawrence River community with roots in early Upper Canada. It's a rare opportunity to create a home of your own in a village that has kept its historic character while making room for new ideas. Follow the gentle slope of Church Street down to the river, where you can put in a kayak or canoe or pause at the shore to watch ships pass along the St. Lawrence Seaway. Take a walk through the village and discover the old buildings and local enterprises that give Maitland its character, including the Merc, Maison Maitland and the Chart House. Enjoy a country village setting with everyday amenities close at hand in Brockville to the west and Prescott to the east. County Road 2 and Highway 401 make it easy to get around, with Highway 416 providing a route to Ottawa and the international bridge at Johnstown connecting to northern New York State. Whether your family has ties to Maitland or you're discovering it for the first time, this lot offers a place to imagine a substantial home that feels at home on Church Street, with the river just down the road.
